Have you lost touch with your imagination?      P10000241

I just got back from visiting my kids and grandkids in Calgary! I love being a grandma! It is the best. It reminds of the innocence we once had where we believed and wanted to be a fireman one day or a ballerina the next day. In fact I was going down a Calgary street with my grandson – who is 3 – and all my family, arms outstretched, we all became planes – noises and all! A lot of looks but we were having fun! The kid inside is alive and well!

Did your dreams die or get put on the back burner? Have you let limiting beliefs get in your way of being a singer, dancer, writer or maybe even a super hero?

I talk with so many people that have dreams – but they are in their head and are "it would have been nice" thoughts rather than reality. Why? Why do we not answer our calling? Are you stuck in a rut of making a living – but not able to step out of that box and really listen to your heart and your deepest desires?

The concept of money  that you hold is usually something that's been hardwired into your brain based on your parents, society's or family attitudes to cash, investing, debt and wealth creation, and even what type of job you should get. Ever heard the words; "That's not very realistic" or "Get real!" What is 'get real'? Living according to someone else's beliefs and ignoring your own? Maybe it is time to listen to your heart and go for it.

girl_in_sunflower_fieldI invite you to find out what your passion and purpose is – what you really want to do. You know what it is – I know you do… you have just lost touch with it, that's okay. It is never too late to be what you dream of. It starts with figuring it out and then writing down goals to attain it. Don't let the excuses of I am too old; it's too late; I can't afford it….

I love this quote by Henry David Thoreau…

If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.

Happy building! Vroom!

The Purpose of Money and Living on Purpose!

Okay, last time I talked to you about living your life on purpose, and that you have to resolve your barriers to money, wealth and financial abundance. So what did I mean by that?

First I want to use the word ‘Prosperity’ –because it can be used to describe; wealth, riches, success, affluence, or fortune – whichever one is the best fit for you – use that definition.  Prosperity means different things to different people – it is a sense of happiness that comes from within.

lady_on_rockWhat I have found is that underneath every person’s vision, dreams and goals is an essential core: a common desire for fulfillment.

What is the difference between prosperity and fulfillment? Prosperity is inclined to be measured mainly by ideals, criteria and standards outside of ourselves – while fulfillment is measured within. No one can dream fulfilled except you. However the world, with its objective yardsticks, can and does judge you as successful if you measure up to its standards.

If the world judges you as being ‘prosperous’ – then it means that either you have realized your own goals and expectations or that you have exceeded normal, average standards held by the majority of people.

It is important to understand that prosperity extends way beyond having lots of money, fancy clothes, a flashy car and a big house. Many people have these things yet they are still not fulfilled or free as I talked about in my last blog in regards to said celebrities. They have lots of money, yet they experience failing health, unhappiness, poor relationships and low self-esteem.

Fulfillment is quite different. Fulfillment is a feeling that comes from within your soul and radiates through your being. It is a feeling of deep satisfaction and contentment that you experience at the end of the day when you lie in bed before drifting off to sleep, knowing in your heart and in your soul that you have met or exceeded your expectations of yourself.

To be fulfilled means to be filled full – busting at the seams – a sense of well-being! When your own sense of well-being and the outward symbols of success come together – then you feel you have achieved ‘prosperity’. Both can exist on their own, like a candle and a match - but if you have ‘prosperity’ and you are ‘fulfilled’ then the flame creates an amazing glow!

in_the_forest2I am writing a book right now on what my 10 commandments are for a fulfilling and prosperous life from my experience and teachings from my workshops and seminars. The commandments however are not 'the steps' to the Enchanted Forest of prosperity, but they are universal truths that inspire all successful accomplishments and individuals. They are a sense of what connects us as human beings who desire to realize our potential.

If you desire prosperity then you must walk the path of those who have previously left their j0185229footprints in the sand… by tracing their steps you will find your own truths so that you can leave your own footprints which then will define your own personal experience of prosperity.  Chances are, you have already encountered them along your journey. My purpose is to help accelerate your learning and facilitate your personal journey toward a fulfilling life!

I love celebrities in the news - they sure help my cause in the world! Why? What can we learn from Lindsay Lohan, Mel Gibson, and most celebrities about money? Well let me ask you this…. Would you agree that if money was actually the key to financial security, peace of mind and a happy life, then the celebrity magazines would be full of happy people with good relationships? Aren't all millionaires living fulfilling meaningful lives?

lots_of_money

NO! So can we agree that a million dollars won’t give you lasting happiness, security and well-being?

Do you think it would be different in your case? Come on - tell the truth....I bet right now you think it would be....!

As a society we have been hypnotized. Even though we know at an intellectual level that money can't give us happiness, security and well-being, we've been hypnotized at an unconscious level to FEEL that it can.

So what has that got to do with money? Here's what: If you think you need money BEFORE you can live your life's purpose and feel a real sense of security, you've got it the wrong way around!

purpose

To live your life ON PURPOSE – you have to resolve your barriers to money, wealth and financial abundance so you can use money for ITS true purpose – as a creative tool, for supporting you in making your difference in the world.

Stay tuned… more about living on purpose next time!

Cheers,

Shari

What is Wealth to you? chest

What seems at first glance to be a very simple question; most find it extremely difficult to answer.

Do you associate wealth with money, your savings, your investments, your home or other forms of financial resources?

Did you know that the word wealth comes from the Old English words “weal” (well-being) and “th” (condition) which taken together means “the condition of well-being”?

Ever heard the statement that happiness is the true measurement of wealth? happiness_

So now there is confusion because one concerns the nature of happiness, the other the nature of wealth. What may happen though is as your wealth increases, so does your expectations, and so does being accustomed to the lifestyle that the new level of wealth brings.

Do you expect that your wealth has to improve in order for your happiness level to remain constant? If your wealth were to decline, would your happiness?

In thinking about happiness and wealth, you should avoid using the words ''happiness' and ''wealth'', and think instead of more accurate and more substantial words that symbolize what you truly think these things are.

I believe that the true equation between happiness and wealth is this: that happiness is wealth. Unlike wealth in the form of money and possessions, such happiness can never be quantified, only felt; and if one has it, it does not matter if the level of it always stays the same.

Here are some famous wealth quotes for you….

Cheers! Here's to your wealth and happiness!

Wealth is the ability to fully experience life~ Thoreau

Being rich is having money; being wealthy is having time~ Margaret Bonnano

I'd like to live as a poor man with lots of money~ Picasso

So many people spend their health gaining wealth, and then have to spend their wealth to regain their health~ A.J Reb Materi

Wealth, like happiness, is never attained when sought after directly. It comes as a by-product of providing a useful service ~ Henry Ford

They say it is better to be poor and happy than rich and miserable, but how about a compromise like moderately rich and just moody?      ~ Princess Diana
